22. Tell us about one scene between your characters that you've never written or told anyone about before! Serious or not.

Orphaeus is an arachnaphobe. I had this one scene where Cadmus and Orphaeus were taking shelter from the sun underground. Orphaeus awakes to find a large spider on his face and he runs screaming into the early night. The night is spent with Cadmus trying to find Orphaeus so that they can continue their journey. Much hilarity ensues.

Stop being stupid.  The only thing you're destroying is your own habitat.  Trust me, the Earth will find a way to rid herself of parasites, and she's getting ready to do just that.  All you "Save the World' penitents are really saying "Save Humanity."  But we aren't worth saving.  We've proved that time and time again.  Just keep doing what you're doing and, before you know it, we'll all be wiped out by some superbug or a related cataclysm.  The Earth will endure.  Humanity is nothing but a temporary irritation.

Anniversary

A year ago, I was happier than I might have ever been. I was surrounded by friends and immersed in a secret. I was an active part of a crackerjack team to help a talent along as he began to bloom before thousands of people. Yes, there were problems, and yes, I could have handled those problems much more proactively than I did. Had I done so, I may still be a part of that group...and that group may be be drastically different than what it is now. If that experience did only one thing for me, it verified my believe that people will screw you every chance they get and that it's best to just work alone. I'm never going to find myself in a situation like that again. It's difficult to care about the cause and realise others are only out for money and their own glorification. Never again.

Moving

I've been dreaming a lot of moving from the Armpit back to Asheville, or to England. The English dreams are much more vivid. I put most everything I own into storage and have two cases and a dufflebag to begin my new life. I've arranged to stay at a hotel in Swindon, where falkenna is there to share the room and teach me the English way of life. Neither Aunt Tudi nor the animals are in this dream. It's like I'm a free bird, who's flown home. I check the papers for rooms or cottages available in Avebury and yammer with falkenna that I need to cross paths with Stuart Rowe and Barry Andrews before leaving Swindon. It's all so very real and surreal at the same time. This is an instant where a dream truly is nothing but just that ~ a dream.

I've seen it, but I still can't believe it. Words just aren't sufficient. Instead, I shall opt to "squee" at spydielives until she has the authorities come in and euthanise me. I think that m0usegrrl will be squeeing along with me when she sees it. The work being done to release this book is breathtaking and humbling. I can't thank spydielives and theafaye for all the work done, and in duress thanks to my dumb ass making things 10 times more difficult. In my mind, I'm dancing some ridiculous hillbilly jig that I made up on the spot. Join me if you dare.

Wonders

I wonder how many real aliens visit sci-fi conventions just to hang out and be groovy with the humans and, also to see if we'd even be ready for such a monumental event as aliens visiting Earth. Really, there's no way to discern alien from human with a lot of the costumes and make-up at anybody's fingertips. It's enough to make one wonder. If I were an alien, I'd so totally crash some parties and get all rowdy. People would fawn over my make-up and the groovy language I was speaking. Both men and women would want me and want to be me ~ it'd be crazy. And it would all be done without my normally having to cloak myself. I'd even walk down the street during one of the Dragon*Con parades, waving at the onlookers and the news camera. I'd even pose for personal shots, making gangsta signs with my flippers. It would be epic, I say, EPIC. Any self-respecting alien would do the exact same thing.

I just broke a tooth chewing on ice.  I'm in a world of hurt now.  No more ice for me, but I do get to call those dental people first thing tomorrow.  BOO
