Went for the MRI this morning, expecting to be there for at least two hours. According to Uncle Michael, his MRI lasted for approximately two hours. I went equipped with my Cadmus journal and a bottle of water, expecting to pass some time before I was called back. I then planned on having a nap during the procedure since I didn't sleep all that swell last night.
I didn't even get to sit down in the waiting room. As soon as I gave my information to the receptionist, she took me right back to lock up my purse and change into a gown. I then went right into the MRI room and was positioned in the machine. The dude told me it would take about 30 minutes to do the test and, when I asked him about the two hours, he explained that full body MRIs are what take that long. Uncle Michael probably had one of those because of his stroke. That's the only explanation I can come up with. When he calls to talk to Aunt Tudi today, I'll ask him about it.
The tech asked if I wanted to listen to music and I said sure, anything but Country. He flipped the channel to an adult contemporary station that was airing the John Tesh show. This was the worst part of the MRI. I should have declined the music, but I just had to be amicable, didn't I?
zaecus' mention of alien implants in association with his MRI combined with my exposure to the notorious alien mole John Tesh made my imagination go wild. He played songs geared to suck a person's Will to live out through the very pores of their skin.
Other than John Tesh, the test was an overall pleasant experience. I feel my best in enclosed spaces. Maybe I'd sleep better if started sleeping in a coffin.
