Quite possibly one of the most beautiful songs ever.


Another achingly beautiful song. He does well with female guest vocalists, I think. The harmonies in this one make my spirit soar. And something about this video reminds me of The Fountain.


This was the first time I ever saw Peter Gabriel. I've been fascinated ever since. I remember I was recovering from my first knee surgery and this song was all I could hear in my head from the moment I heard it. Now, every time I hear it, my knee hurts (more), but I don't care. I love this song and this performance in particular.

And I'll have mercy on you and finish up with a live version of my favourite song by Peter, "Mercy Street." The a capella intro just puts a lump in my throat. This is a perfect example of art inspires art. This song would not exist, were it not for Anne Sexton. And it all cycles around in a Circle of Beauty.
