Dr. Patch informed me that, if he could have found the Geico advert with the high-fiving squirrels on You Tube, he would have emailed it to me last night. I told him that he was evil. Pure frickin' evil.

I've apparently caught some thing and was sent home by Dr. Patch when he heard that I sounded like Froggy from Our Gang and looked like Hell's worst nightmare. So here I am. I'm supposed to work tomorrow but Doc told me not to come in if I wasn't significantly better. Honestly, it's been so long, I don't know what to think of a boss like this. ::boggle::

I worked 'til 12:30 this morning. I'm addlepated. Studying is not an option. Told Doc what the class was called: Human Thought and Learning. He agreed that the class (and the test) would be dead easy. I'm not worried. I'm just gonna cram and do my best.

Heheheheheheheh. I'm only human.

Here's to another day of adventure and four-legged angels in fur coats! Wheeeeeee!

Motley

She's older than she looks. I had her pegged at around 5 months, but Dr. Patch says she's closer to 6 months. D'oh! She has a spaying appointment for 2 March. Doc says he thinks Motley won't get any larger than around 7 pounds. It may be a good thing she's a little hellion since the other two are 10 pounds and over. She'll need that attitude to match the others' poundage.

We're about to go out to the post office, the dump, and a grocery store. Once we get back home, I'm calling Fidelity and demanding my money before the government hijacks it for Zee Vorrrrrr.

We have an appointment with Dr. Patch to talk to him about Riley. Riley has suddenly become very aggressive and doesn't seem to want to move. He's even growled at me when I attempted to move him on the couch or persuade him to go out to the bathroom. I've gone over his entire body to see if he may be in pain, but I haven't been able to find a thing. If anyone can figure out what's going on with Riley, it would be Dr. Patch.

We're also taking Sheba along so Michelle can express her glands. The poor dog has gland issues and begins to lick herself enthusiastically when it's time to be expressed. Aunt Tudi adores Sheba, but I find the pup plain unpleasant. This doesn't mean I won't shower her with all sorts of crazy-mad love, but I must admit that Sheba just isn't my favourite.

When we go to the vet's office we're taking a large deli sammich tray for Dr. Patch and his intrepid posse. I always try to do something nice for those folks because they're good to me and my beasties all year long.

I'm heading back to bed for 2 or 3 more hours.

Musings

I haven't much to write about, yet I'm keen on writing something. Actually, I should turn my attention to finishing The Chalice but, to be honest, I really need at least one day's break from it. I'm getting to the portion of the book where all the main characters are together. My head isn't large enough to fit them all in at once, but it must be done. Yes, I know this is all I've been writing about for the past month, but there's not much else going on. One thing I want to include in the book is poem I wrote that eventually came to be the lyrics for one of Magnificat's songs. The lilt and tempo might be very familiar to peeps in tune to certain things.

Enigma (the Masque of Cadmus)

As you drift dangerous past my eyes
I see the mask that once you wore
And you are hunting down my spies
That watch you, wanting ever more
The illusions far beneath your skin
Surfeit with great uncertainty
And I'm in earnest to dig in
And reach your soul for me to see

Your mask may scare me out of sleep
Your dreams are nightmares for the weak
Your passion drives my heart to weep
It's your enigma that I seek
And what I found was always mine
And what I say I've said before
Your kisses taste like blood and wine
And leave me spent upon the floor

Yes, we shall see what dreams can share
And we shall touch that holy place
And when we sleep we'll travel there
To find ourselves in sacred space
We'll go to where the fountains sing
To listen to the night's refrain
We'll hear the Bells of Silence ring
Then dance the nightmare trip again

It's not even 7PM yet, but it feels like it should at least be 10PM. After dealing with the 24-hour Belly Splooge, I'm feeling kinda of weak and tired. Here's hoping I'm not in the same boat tomorrow. I have to go to The Pit and have Jan fill out her portion of my credit card insurance papers. Once I get that done, I can mail the necessary paperwork to the appropriate souls, sit back and let the insurance pay against my debt for at least 6 months. These companies also pay like 3 to 4 times the minimum amount due, so I'm looking at very small credit card statements once my insurance runs out and my 401k money is in my hot trembling paws.

I have to get up early tomorrow to take Motley over to Dr. Patch's. Hopefully, he can treat her and give her back to us tomorrow afternoon. Aunt Tudi is quite keen on adopting Motley because she looks so much like our Paisley, may she rest in peace. The only difference is, Motley has no tail. Like her brother Lynx, Motley is a button-butt.

Tonight, I think I shall watch a DVD until I pass out. This is no different than any other night. My life is so exciting.

2-Day

We got up early and took Sheba to see Dr. Patch. Beginning late Friday, Sheba started having problems getting up and down on the furniture and, when she was touched on her sides near the back, she'd yelp out in pain. Uncool. So off to the vet we went. Doc did a white blood cell count on her to make sure it wasn't a kidney infection. Nothing. So he's thinking it's either a kidney stone or a pulled muscle. She's on muscle relaxants for the next few days to see if that does the trick. If not, we'll have X-rays to see if a stone can be detected. Actually, she seems some better today, so maybe it's just a pulled muscle. Here's hoping. Either way, she'll be with Doc until Saturday 'cos we're boarding everyone tomorrow for our NYC trip.

After taking Sheba to the vet, we came back home for a short while, or what should have been a short while. Johnna came down for a visit in order to get our itinerary and confirm instructions on feeding the cats and opossums while we're away. While Aunt Tudi was chit-chatting with her, I fell asleep on the couch. I was having one of those bizarro narcolepsy attacks. So, instead of our leaving around 12 to go to pay some bills and run by Wal-Mart, we ended up leaving around 2 PM.

Aunt Tudi got herself a couple of really nice blouses and I got some make-up and panties (what a combo!). We got home a little after 4, at which time I jumped online and wrote my glowing report on Barry Andrews' voice. Then I jumped in the shower and off to Llew's I went, visiting shortly before 8. After spending a very pleasant hour and a half with him, I returned home and painted my nails for the first time in about 2 years. They are now a fantabulous purple!

So that was my day. Boring, eh? But it was productive and pleasant. That's all that matters in my ongoing quest for a stress-free existence.

**EDIT** Oh and I haven't written a stitch today, but I plan on getting some vampirage down before I leave tomorrow. Was thinking about taking the computer with me but....I don't want to take any risks. So I'm burning the tale onto a disc to take with me in the event something happens to the house (like fire, heaven forbid). ::firms nods::
