Uncle Riley and today's vet visit.

I took this last night and totally forgot to post it, instead sending the pic to some coworkers so they could gush all over themselves.
For some reason, Riley loves kittens. He's still the best of friends with Smidgen, but he has now taken a shine to Shmoop, playing with her, cuddling her, and generally being like a big lopey uncle to her. I caught this image last night after Shmoop jumped up on the couch and cuddled up beside her favourite uncle. He grumbled a little at first, 'cos that is what Riley does, then he settled in and enjoyed the closeness with his new bebbeh niece.

In other news, I'm a damned fool. Dr. Patch meant that Shmoop would be able to tolerate exposure to Iggy a week after her first shots, not that Shmoop was supposed to have her boosters a week after her first shots. We have to wait two more weeks before Shmoop can get her boosters. So Aunt Tudi and I spent 3 hours at the vet's office waiting to be told that there was no reason for us to be waiting. We could have just picked up Iggy and zipped home.
Before we left, I asked Linda to set me up an appointment for Shmoop and let me know how much I owed on the rest of Iggy's bill so I could take care of it. She piped up and said, "I have four forty-five. Is that okay?" I thought she was talking about the bill and almost passed flat out right there. She was talking about the appointment time. After a good and very relieved laugh, I paid the final $94.50 and teetered out of the office at 8:20, cats in tow.
It's time to get Iggy settled in and then I'm gonna get back online and de-stress myself. I'm a big bundle of raw nerves.
But at least I'm surrounded by adorable critters.
