Leaf Tree Tattoos

I want more tattoos, but not the ones I originally planned. I'm really getting into the hand tattoos since the Everything that Rises Must Converge tattoo turned out so well. What I really want now are what I call Leaf Trees inked onto the insides of my hands, displaying both leaves and thorns that will represent people and events in my life. Only I will know what the leaves and thorns actually mean. The trees will begin at the heel of my hand and there will be a gnarled branch that snakes up each finger and thumb. Leaves and thorns will be added, and more will be added as life goes on, requiring more indicators of souls and moments that help define who I am. The branches will be black, the thorns, red, and the leaves blue and green. I drew a sketch of what I have in mind. Of course, it will be a lot prettier and delicate, being a work of art on the part of the tattoo artist. I'd love for Sean to do this. I think it'd be right up his alley and I have faith that he'd create exactly what I have in mind for the Leaf Trees. Here's the sketch I drew of what I want on both hands.

If I have any extra money left from my second retroactive cheque, I'm getting this done on both hands as soon as humanly possible. There's a deep psychic need for me to have this done..

your artist hunt may be trickier. when i got tattooed in maine, the shop i went to had a no hands, head or genitals (genitals? who gets tattooed there? nevermind i don't want to know) policy. not sure if that's a by state, county, or just a by shop law, but something to bear in mind.

having said that, cool design idea, i like :)

Both tats I have are on my hands, and Sean said he'd tattoo me anywhere I wanted, so I think I'm good with that. It's just a matter of getting the fundage. :) Glad you like the design.

I'm not saying you shouldn't do what you want. But be aware that inside of the hand tattoos are avoided for a reason, they will need constant touching up.

That won't be a problem 'cos these are going to be living tattoos, constantly having leaves and thorns added to them, so I'll be able to get touch ups as additions are made.
