Dog rescue - Breed restrictions

Please read and help if you can, especially all you Texans who might have any leads on animal rescue operations that may be able to help!

ARGH - I found a senior Rottie near the coast. A friend & I were ready to load up & get her to save her from the needle. I've got land though my animals stay inside... but to save a life, I'm willing to make outside areas for *them.* I know I have reached my limit inside. I've rescued a number of dogs old & young - I adopt them for free to any good person... So far I've been successful.

Well this poor dog - I can't get her because she is a restricted breed. ALSO she cannot leave the county??? I have to be a Breed specific rescue... *experienced rescue*...

Just because she is a Rottweiler.

If anyone knows someone in Texas:

Yes I do know most everyone is full beyond belief.

ALSO if anyone knows about forming 501c3 organizations aka rescues - please let me know... I can't do it in time for her, but maybe in the future. I already have a few people that would help provide dog food & monies for dog related vaccines/drugs....

No promises, but I'm gonna make some phone calls. Hopefully a friend of mine who handles a lot of rescues can help us out. Waterdawg is near Galveston, right?

I believe so. She was affected by the hurricane a few years back, so that sounds about right. Thanks for helping out!

Never mind that last question - Texas City is near me (I didn't finish reading before posting, sorry) I'm sending out inquiries now

Groovy, thank you! :)

THANK Y'ALL. I'm a bit north of Houston.

I've put out feelers and so far the rescues I know are full.

Just so unfair for a dog to be singled out like that...

You're right. It's very unfair. Like I've heard off and on for years, there are no bad dogs - only bad owners.

Waterdawg, I live in New Caney (work in Tomball), where exactly are you? When I was in college, I worked for the Eastex Vet group, so I've activated that phone-tree to send out all the feelers I can too, plus friends who do rescue who know other rescue people. Hopefully someone will come out of the woodworks to save this sweet girl.

New Caney isn't far. I'm north of Livingston - Moscow. I put out feelers myself - this one poor dog, just because she's a Rottie. She's older & sweet.
