Horatio and Nutmeg

The other day, Aunt Tudi went out on the back porch and into the utility room when she saw a fluffy something exit quickly. Needless to say, she exited quickly too. She wasn't sure if it was a rat, an opossum, or some sort of wild cat, but she said she wasn't going back out there without some sort of stick to bang on things and scare it away.
Well, last night, she heard a ruckus on the front porch and looked out only to see Steve in a Mexican standoff with a full-grown raccoon. She took a picture to document the event.

Where you have full-grown raccoons, you usually have curious babies, so I'm not very concerned about the animal in the utility room. It's probably just a curious child. I've named the large adult Horatio and the baby Nutmeg. Here's hoping they frequent our abode. I miss having raccoons around, ever since our pet raccoon back in the 70s.
