Cathy called last night to let me know about Diane and Howard.
Howard is in the hospital, very sick. He had his gall bladder removed and also had a bleeding ulcer worked on. During that time, the doctor found some cancer cells, I'm not sure where. Cat is supposed to let me know what hospital he's in and any further developments with his health as she learns them.
Diane's mother died on Friday. Since Cathy is in Florida and can't come up, she asked that I keep an eye out for Diane and make sure she was going to be okay. Aunt Tudi and I went for a visit today. As it stands now, Diane is as okay as one can be upon losing one's mother. She's in the numb stage and see-sawed between mellowness and tears during our visit. I feel so bad for her. So much has happened to her in the past year...more than one person should have to bear. She lost a granddaughter in April. Her youngest daughter gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, but almost three months too early. The infant only lived 2 hours. She was named for Diane. And there's more just miserable family hoo-ha. Diane deserves so much better.
I'll be calling Cathy tomorrow to tell her how Diane is doing and make arrangements for the meal Cat is wanting me to take over to Diane's sometime this week. Hopefully she'll have more info on Howard by then. Timothy will want to know about Howard. I'll need to call him next week when he has returned from the beach.
