[livejournal.com profile] paisleydaze has clued the Joker Blogs Dude in on The Final Date, which is just beyond cool. But the way in which she did it gratifies me to the point of striking me speechless, and people all around the world cried out in joy and thanks to her for such a feat. This is what she said:

I am sending a link to some TDK fanfiction that was written by one of your very biggest fans over at Live Journal. I wanted to draw your attention to the introduction to the first part of the story - called Final Date and then, especially the second link which is to the last part of the Final Date. She has written a great Joker Date Series and this is the last installment. She has, in an ingenious way, passed the torch to theJokerBlogs in a sort of tribute, at the end of the story. She gives full credit for using your content. She's been spreading the word about cha over at LJ. I have been too. We'd love to have you and yours over at LJ so we can claim you as one of ours. We are possessive that way.

I am going to warn you ahead of time that fangirls are enamoured of the fantasy of a Joker who is a bit of a sexual gladiator. Tinhuviel panders to the fangirls so her stories are full of wonderfully filthy sex. Now, this is not about you. You are not the Joker in the story until the end. She began writing her version of J before she discovered your wonderful work on YouTube but she decided to "retire" her J. and meld him with yours at the end of the series. Please don't be offended by the very graphic sexual content. I have to confess I enjoy the humour in her writing more than anything. Her J. is delightfully over the top.

Anyway, here are the links for Part One of The Final Date (the introduction sets it up) and Part Two of the Final Date (where the torch is passed to theJokerBlogs) - you can skip right to the last few paragraphs if you think the sex might make you squirm just a little. Guys are not supposed to be reading these.

No need to reply to me. I know you are very busy.....creating. Can't wait for the next installment.

Your fan,
Sophie

I lost ten years of my life getting an email from one of my heroes. Seriously.

Oh, and I have a cat named Norvus (for Nervous Norvus). Come to think...I have a cat named Steve too. ::thinks::

Remind me to keep Steve away from the computer when I'm watching the Joker Blogs. It might not be healthy.

Wait a minute....

Just reread this after resurrecting.

"We are almost done writing the series as a whole"

That says there's an "end" to the Blogs. That's not...possible. Just.NO.

Oh no. She just goes cuh-razy and runs off in a Jester costume. Here's a bit of character trivia for you: Paul Dini created the character of Harley Quinn for his good friend Arleen Sorkin, who was the first to play her (voice-wise. it was a Toon) since the character was made for and based on her personality. The Jester costume she wore was inspired by a similar costume Arleen's character Calliope wore at one point on Days of Our Lives. Calliope's love interest was Eugene, played by John de Lancie, who was the first to play Q of the Q Continuum on Star Trek. So...the Joker Blogs Dude, being "involved" with Harley Quinn, is one degree of separation away from the Q Continuum, which only proves my contention that he can do bloody anything. How's that for insane reasoning? And for some neat-o trivia for when you appear on Jeopardy.

And the Blogs can't end, because that would be so....final. The Joker really will die then. Don't you think?

I was thinking about something yesterday, though. And this taps into Jungian psychology and group magick, so you may or may not dig it. While the whole Maul thing was going on, I was fortunate to be talking to a therapist who happened to be a Jungian psychologist, which was great for me since I'm all about Jung. He pointed out something that should have been obvious to me: Maul represented a very strong male archetype that many women could respond to, even if they didn't know why. He was quite literally the Horned God, which is all about sex and protection. He's also like the Uber Animus.

So what is Joker? Fandom is pretty much a form of worship, so places like Rancid Rainbow are like online temples dedicated to the Joker archetype. But J is more dangerous than Maul in that he's not a Horned Lord archetype. He's Loki. He's Coyote. That said, is group manifestation of the Joker the wisest thing? Is immersion into such an archetype the safest thing to do? And I'm talking about Heath now. Invoking certain deities can be a dangerous thing to do, no matter what form they take.

What kind of chaos may result from group invocations of an archetype of mischief? All that said, maybe it's best that it does come to an end, despite my/our personal protestations. And, really, do you want to be molested by Loki?

Don't answer that. I'd say 'yes' too at this point.

As for Norvus, you gotta wonder how he's handling the invocation of the archetype as defined by Heath. He's gotten to people, just like he predicted. How is he? Here's hoping his future roles invoke someone like Manannan Mac Lir just to balance things out! ;)

I did not know that about Michelle. Very odd indeed. And I think you're right about the archetypes popping up, perhaps in a cycle. Barry said it well in his song "Hymn to the Local Gods," regarding the gods of "old:" They never died we only lost their number. All you can find here worship and more will appear."

Loki is laughing.

Odin is all the Chaos Trickster I can handle, thank you very much, I stay away from Loki! That's just me, of course, but I think he probably should be handled with care. (Different people get called to handle different forces/entities with care, I guess.)

You support my point then, that such conjurations can be and most usually are very dangerous?

"It is he, through his creations that destroy, points out the flaws in carefully constructed societies of man. He rebels against authority, pokes fun at the overly serious, creates convoluted schemes, that may or may not work, plays with the Laws of the Universe and is sometimes his own worst enemy. He exists to question, to cause us to question not accept things blindly. He appears when a way of thinking becomes outmoded needs to be torn down built anew. He is the Destroyer of Worlds at the same time the savior of us all. "

"We seem most accessible to the synchronistic gifts of the Trickster when we ourselves are at or near boundaries or are experiencing transition states"

You've kinda answered your own question. He's clearly serving a purpose for you and probably for blogboy as well. And when the time is passed, you should both step a-WAY from the Joker.

Ah, but that's a different archetype, better suited to being a permanent part of one's Daemon. It's back to the Horned God thing. Even if it can be very dark and cruel at times, it still represents one's power in a way the Trickster does not.

IMHO.
