This is like 1000 years old, but I figured I'd do it again, just for shits and giggles. I figured I'd pick interests that no one else in all of LJ has included. Maybe explaining them will generate enough interest among readers to where someone might join me in being interested in this lonely matter. Or maybe not.

- Antonin Dvořak: Czech composer. He's probably most famous in America for his Symphony #9: From the New World, whose largo from which the song "Goin' Home" is derived. This symphony was carried to the moon (or the desert south west, depending on whom you believe) by Neil Armstrong. I first heard his work as a very young child, probably aged 3, when "Humouresque" was played for me. Besides Aunt Tudi's Strauss Waltzes, this piece is the my earliest musical memory. Dvořak drew a lot of inspiration from the sounds of nature and the folk music of the indigenous people of Bohemia, particularly the Romany folk. Being an avid admirer of Gypsy music, I appreciate Dvořak's efforts here. He succeeds brilliantly. Even though most everyone likes the New World Symphony, I prefer his Symphony #8, particularly the third movement. It's absolute genius.
- Cas Gwent: Also known as Chepstow, in English, but I prefer the Welsh Cas Gwent.
falkenna took Aunt Tudi and me to this town when we visited the UK in 2006. It's unbelievably beautiful and irrepressibly Welsh. Here's my post on the visit to Cas Gwent, and here's the collection of photies taken whilst we were there.
- Montauk Experiment: Usually mentioned in association with the Philadelphia Experiment, the Montauk Project was reportedly a series of experiments in the development of psychological and psychic warfare via the use of electromagnetism. Some believe it was a total failure, others believe that its success is beyond our darkest imaginings. The experiment most often referenced is the one where a "monster" was conjured into our dimension from the subconscious of a man who was hooked up to the electromagnetic devices being used to altar our reality with the enhanced power of thought. Before the machine was shut down and the monster was banished back to its own dimension, it killed some people and generally ran amuck. A lot of LOST buffs theorise that the monster on the island is the same mentioned in the Montauk Experiment.
- My Friend Todd: I don't think I can see much more than was already written here by myself and
toddzilla2001. Sometimes, it seems that I miss him more with every passing day. I wonder what kind of karma I earned to bless me with such a wonderful friend, then take him 3000 miles away from me. Then again, this could be the old "absence makes the heart grow fonder" cliché that Todd and I love to scoff at with glee.
- Tarmi am Tynillim: Pronounce TAHR-mee ahm TIN i thlim, it roughly translates from the Tarmian into English as "The Account of the the Tarmi (the People of Hope or the Star People)." It's the title of the back story that forms the mythical basis of The Chalice. Most of it has never even been written down, residing primarily in my noggin.
- The Mighty Spork: This is a giant sculpture of a black spork that I want made and placed in my front yard someday. I imagine that it would be wondered at and worshiped much like the obelisk in 2001: A Space Odyssey.
- Veterinary Assistance: I was actually taking some courses to become a veterinary assistant, but I've since realised that I'd end up in jail for opening up a can of whoop-ass on an idiot who didn't treat his/her animal companion correctly. Veterinary assistance is like the LPN of the animal care world ~ it's like being an RN, but without the pay or respect. That's what I gleaned during my time in the program. Meh.
- Way of the Sith: The Sith philosophy, according to most anyone but George Lucas. My own Way of the Sith is explained in this post.
- Knorks: The first cousin of the spork, a knork is a knife and a fork combined. Check out the Knork! Had I my druthers, I'd replace all my silverware with nothing but knorks and sporks.
- The Poetry of Coincidence: My term for odd occurrences that make my brain bibble and my heart flutter. Best described here. I don't know what else to say about it.
