The Omen

clumsycake, Aunt Tudi, and I went to see The Omen remake today. I used some of my movie passes and clumsycake provided snacks (popcorn, nachos, and beverage). In we went. All in all, it was a really good remake of an excellent movie. Little Damien was appropriately creepy and the updated deaths were pretty eye-popping. Trying to fill the gigantic shoes of Jerry Goldsmith is impossible to do, but Marco Beltrami did a fine job trying, so I salute him. It was pretty groovy that "Ave Satani" was incorporated into the score. It's inclusion comforted me in very strange and unsettling ways.

Of course, it still bothers me that they created the 666 birthmark to look like a triskele. I don't think anyone noticed my tattoo or my jewelry. If they did, they didn't indicate it. That's fine with me. Still though, it's distressing that the triskele might now be associated with "The Mark of the Beast" in some people's minds. Bleh.

I still have a few movie passes left and will continue to go see movies until I run out. After that, I'll be keeping my poor arse at home.

I hate to tell ya, Tin, but superstitious backward ass Christians already think that it's satanic. They pretty much think all symbols that aren't a fish, or a cross, or a dove, or a fruity angel is satanic.

Case in point, and you can ask brujah about this, when I got arrested the day after Halloween for malicious mischief regarding some ill advised graffiti, there was a picture of a stop sign with an anarchy symbol. The Lagrange Daily's caption said *that* was satanic. They also blamed Geraldo's show on Anton Lavey for inspiring the mischief. The Mischief was two dumbasses writing graffiti during a Halloween party,and sadly I wasn't even involved, but because I was 19, and someone made a cop work, I got charged along with others at the party. Fuckers.

Yeah, you're right, but folks usually ask what it is and I explain. Now, a lot of them won't ask and just assume it's 666. Blagh...

got some jehovah's witnesses leaving booklets on the floor of my porch the other evening when i got home. i was in a burning mood(due to other blogged about problems), so i burned them. they don't burn very well... the booklets, i mean.
