Righto.

Based on the assumption that, since I love squid, I will also dig octopus, I bought a tin of spiced octopus the other day. I haven't tried it yet, but I'll document the experience here when I do. In the meantime, Aunt Tudi taped the "on the go" section of her Crystal Light to my octopus tin and then posed for an "octopus on the go" ad.

In other news, I can't seem to figure out how to get my Shriekback footage to a DVD. I promised B a copy of all the video footage, but I've hit a wall upon which is written "TECHNOLOGICAL DUMBASS." When I go see Llew, I'm gonna have to see if he can assist me with this since he's the one who made the original DVD. I feel like a total nudnick.

I love and adore squid. I do also like the taste of octopus, but i refuse to eat anything smart enough to beat me at checkers. I figure if i eat the stupid animals of the world, then i'm doing my part to make the world a smarter place.

Another argument for cannibalism.

Or against it: the stupid people have oftentimes done some remarkably stupid things to their bodies, thus making them highly suspect as a potential food source.

Besides... with all of the chemicals, preservatives and other nasty shit that even the smart people put into their bodies, i imagine that humans would be not only unpalatable, but downright unhealthy.

I don't do squid, or shrimp, but I do like sardines, and I must say I've NEVER noticed tins of octopus in the canned meats section of the supermarket. I'm going to have to take a gander the next time I get groceries.

In other news, I've filled out my LJ profile a bit and been trying to post more regularly. Plus I've friended you.

Dining out with my friend on Saturday night. I ordered fried calamari (squid) --mmm. She ordered paella (Spanish dish with mixed seafood and chicken) and when she found the bits of octopus -- oh! I just realized I can't tell *you* this story, Tin, until after you've tried yours!

That is such a wonderful picture of Aunt Tudi! And octopus- yeuch! But the whole "allergic to seafood" thing kinda explains that reaction...
