V (not for Vendetta, but for Victory)

I got in the mail yesterday the miniseries V and V: The Final Battle. At the beginning of each installment of the first miniseries is this dedication:

To the heroism of the
Resistance Fighters
--past, present, and future--
this work is respectfully
dedicated

These movies would never be made in today's political climate, especially carrying such a dedication. It's like sending out a salute to the Iraqi insurgents. The message of V is a bit heavy-handed at times, but I think a big slap in the face is exactly what we all need right about now.

It's like I always said, whether or not you're dubbed a terrorist depends on which side you're on. Americans who don't see this now are either blind, stupid, or have a vested interest in the current administration's totalitarian policies.

I agree about the Star Child. It was all a little too contrived for my taste, but Ken Johnson is a brilliant man. He's responsible for "Dracula '79" from the Cliffhangers show. I was wondering what happened with the Next Generation. Thanks for clearing that up. NBC should know that they'd do better with bringing the original characters back for a follow-up/reunion. Silly network execs...

And JMS can do no wrong in my humble opinion. Just sayin'.
