So, here's the rest of what happened on my big ole birthday.

I got home and called Grandpa Irving. He'd left a birthday message on the answering machine and asked that I please call him back. As usual, Louise answered the phone.....hateful bit of ragweed... I just cut her off at the get-go and asked to speak to Grandpa. He sounds so frail! He apologised for not being a good grandfather and never being around, then wished me a happy birthday. We had a really nice chat and I think he's a groovy old dude.

Then Daddy called. We had an interesting, if not strange, conversation and I can't remember a word of it now. Go figure. I do remember it was odd.

Stephanie called and we had a right festive laugh. She's supposed to be coming over on Friday.

So I watched the last X-Files episode on Sci-Fi and was getting all verklempt, when Llew appeared at the front door. He presented me with a birthday card with gift enclosed, gave me a tight hug and a sweet kiss. Later on, he gave me a birthday spanking. Thirty-six whacks can get a girl's attention....

The day ended in peaceful cuddles. It was the best birthday in about 10 years.
