Woke up this Mo'nin'
Sep. 26th, 2010 01:49 pmI'm listening to Alabama 3 and feelin' it in my bones. It happens when you wake up at 7, drink two energy coffees in the course of 15 minutes and begin writing like the fiend that infests my very soul. I meant to finish 'The Bat's Date' today or die trying. Thankfully the former occurred. It's not the longest story in the world, but I'm proud of it. It's the last Joker fiction I will write and I owed
acook my very best I could off for her kindness and her attempt to convince Scott I wasn't the nut I was portrayed as being. Did it work? Does it matter? What mattered is that she tried when no one else would. And I appreciate that. My appreciation makes me want to do nice things for people. 'The Bat's Date' is my nice thing for a nice person.
With that written and the trilogy complete, I don't know what I'll do. I'll probably begin the arduous proofing of The Augury of Gideon. All I have is a first draft and that won't do. I'm not sure of Sophie's schedule for the books; whether they'll come out every six months or every year. Regardless of the schedule, I want to be ready and I want Jill's job to be as easy as it can be when the time comes.
The books arrive to me no later than Tuesday, at which time I'll sign the ones I'm supposed to and send them on their way. I think I have two to sign right now. If you want a signed book, send me $25 to susperia5atyahoo.com on Paypal and I'll get it for you ASAP.
I've noticed here that all I talk about is writing. There's a reason for that: that's all that's going on in my world. I could discuss my health issues, but I don't want to be a downer, so that's off the table. Just know I'm in constant chronic pain and the doctors won't help me. Fun Fun Fun.
Right now I'm listening to "Walking on Broken Glass" and thinking of the video where Hugh Laurie plays the rejected fop. He plays a fop so well, it's hard to believe he's Gregory House as well. The man is a rare talent.
