30-Day Meme
Aug. 15th, 2010 07:07 am1. Tell us about your favorite writing project/universe that you've worked with and why.
Hands down, the Darth Maul Estrogen Brigade project. It's the first time I felt like I truly belonged anywhere and it gave me a very positive experience of the Internet. Unlike so many, who've had some unsettling experiences that make them wary, I had nothing but a good time, met some good people (albeit thorough perverts), and broke my ten-year-long writers block. The group has been officially defunct now for almost a decade, but I still harbour very fond memories of the friends I made and the smut I wrote, all in the name of Sith Lord Darth Maul. Nothing would please me more than to have a physical reunion with these wonderful people and just party like it was 1999, or at least a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away.

Third Draft
Aug. 15th, 2010 08:53 amI've begun reading the third draft of The Blood Crown and, only twenty pages in, I've found a plethora of mistakes. Hopefully, by the time I'm finished,
gunslingaaahhh will have a breeze at editing. I'm in the mood right now to read and, honestly, The Blood Crown is my favourite of the three books, having hints of humour and tons of Tarmian mythology. This is the book I would have written about the Tarmi had Professor Miller discouraged me from taking that path. Besides, giving hints and insights into the Tarmian history leaves them with the ultimate sense of mystery, which I appreciate. I want to be finished with proofreading The Blood Crown by next week and send the new manuscript to
gunslingaaahhh. Something tells me things will go quickly after the release of The Chalice and I want to be prepared for any eventuality.

Taking a Break
Aug. 15th, 2010 12:35 pmI'm taking a break from proofreading. All the words are starting to melt together. How am I supposed to see if I've made a mistake when everything looks like a jumbled mess? I can't stand proofreading. My third go at The Blood Crown is, I must admit, going faster than I expected. I did pretty good finding the flaws the second time around. Right now I'm listening to "The Saddest Song I've God" by Annie Lennox. Not very conducive to productive reading. I do love her though.
Considering the end of The Augury of Gideon, I'm thinking about going back to the original ending, then beginning a new story with a surprise. It's something to think about. Maybe I'm just jumping the gun a little bit.
I need to contact Meg to see if I can use her picture of Cadmus and Faust for The Blood Crown. The image is inexplicable, but more than appropriate for the importance of their encounter to the narrative of the story. If only she'd write me back. I think I'm gonna try to Facebook. I've also written
m0usegrrl, but she hasn't written me back yet. Her image would be much different, being a representative of Orphaeus and Cadmus, with the Deaghydhen staff, in travel mode. I'm not sure which I'd prefer, but 'The Sainted Confessor' was so important to the narrative of The Blood Crown. I don't know. I wish I could draw the cover, but I've discovered that my hands are too shaky to draw in the way I used to, which makes me feel really bad because I wanted to draw Claire for
paisleydaze and Everett for
gunslingaaahhh. The Claire picture, before it got damaged, looked like crap and the Everett picture still looks like crap.
I think I just talked myself into a depression..

I think I just talked myself into a depression..
I've contacted two of my high school teachers who were great influences on me when it came to my dream to become a writer. I wrote to thank them and to tell them that I was finally being published after all these years. It seems to me that teachers of successful students often get overlooked when it comes to the gratitude department. I didn't want to be one of those people, so I've reached out to the most respectable Mrs. Wanda Moss and Mrs. Caroline Cole. They were an unbelievable help to me in high school, when I needed it the most. They were my friends when I had none and mentors when they saw I was worth mentoring. So this Bud's for you, ladies. May your brilliance never stop touching and inspiring people.
The Torture
Aug. 15th, 2010 07:50 pmI have read almost 80 pages of The Blood Crown and am now entering into "The Sainted Confessor." I had no fun writing it. I had no fun reading it the first two times. I'm having no fun reading it the third time around. It does strike me that that the term Bohemianism is used on numerous occasions. That made me laugh because, this time, the chicken truly did become before the hipster egg.
