Oh Canada

I loved the Olympics.

I loved everything about the Olympics. Sure, I dig the Winter Olympics. I'm not big on the Summer Olympics, mainly because I hate Summer. But there was something extra special about the Winter games this time around. And yes, I'm talking about Canada. There's something absolutely charming about the Great White North. Any country with the moxie to present to the world giant inflatable beavers, knowing that announcers worldwide would have to present to the television viewers that the beavers had landed, is truly the best country on Earth. Canadians have a wonderfully wry and rebellious sense of humour, and they truly presented their dangerous goofiness in full bloom last night. Did everyone get their humour last night? Probably not. To those who didn't get it, I say too bad. Ha ha on you! Idjits one and all! You thought it was silly? Well, go home with your stodgy stiff necks and leave the giggles to those of us who can roll about in all the extra glee left for the rest of us.

Canada, how I love thee! I've changed my default icon just for you. I've changed it to an icon honouring a fellow Canadian who was kicked around by those stodgy folks who didn't get the humour either. God love ya, John K! Sing with me the anthem to the Royal Canadian Kilted Yaksmen! It brings a tear to my eye! ::clings desperately to an inflated beaver and boo hoos::
