Allergic Hero
Dec. 10th, 2003 08:44 amOur propane heater went kaput yesterday. While I was planning on how to pay a serviceman to come out and attempt to repair it, which was doubtful, or install a new heater if he couldn't, Llew was out buying us a new heater. He firmly told me it was for Christmas and that I daren't open my mouth in protest. Yes sir... Not only that, but he's going to install it today too, since he used to work in HVAC "back in the day". Not only is he way generous, but he's damned skillful and intelligent to boot. The man is too sweet for his own good. What am I going to do with him?
After he installs the heater, with the help of his pal Roy, Llew will be returning home for a couple of days, maybe more, to recover from his allergies. Despite eating Claritin, Llew is still reacting to being in close proximity to Paisley. He's dreadfully allergic to cats and, since we have little ventilation and the abode is quite tiny, it's like placing Llew in an isolation tank lined with Essence of Feline.
He gives me warmth and I give him a sinus headache. ::sigh::
I'm hoping he'll come back to stay for a little while before he has to go home and take care of Melanie after she has her surgery.
It's a very rainy and chilly day. The house was damp when I got up to ready myself for another exciting day in the The Pit. I hope that Aunt Tudi and Llew can survive the cold without too much discomfort until we once again have heat.
For someone who gave up hope a long time ago, I sure am hoping for a lot today.
