BOOYAH!

It's even better than I thought: I have Internet access here at Telesuck. W00T!

The computer is about 1000 years old and the monitor is guaranteed to make me go blind within 3 months, but that's OK. At least I can surf my beloved Internet in the wee hours and write stupid things here in my Live Journal.

I've been here at work since 11PM and, so far, have answered approximately 5 calls. Judy has answered just as many. As the night progresses, Judy says it just gets slower.

Even though I'm a bit punchy from lack of sleep right now, I can already tell that this is going to be beyond cushy. Lucky me!

Creepy

It's 3 a.m. and I just poked my head out the front door for a breath of fresh air. There are no cars on the road out there and an active breeze playing around with the bushes and trees. It's damned spooky.

Needless to say, I won't be getting any fresh air when I'm here by myself. My chicken ass is staying right here in this well-lit sanctuary. Oh, and if Marie brings her DVD/TV combo to work for all us bored graveyard shifters, I sure as hell am not gonna ever ever ever bring any kind of horror movie (especially "The Ring") to watch.

OK, I'm officially spooked.

Dawn

It's 5:30 and dawn is right around the corner. Judy and I took a wee nap starting at around 4. The phone woke me up a little after 5, but Judy is still sprawled on the floor, having found a blanket and pillow in the closet.

Judy snores.

I'm quite ready for bed now. I'm going to zizz home at 7 and crawl in next to Llew for a nice long nap. I can't hardly wait.

Even though 3rd is quite laid back, it goes very slowly and has really worn me out with simple boredom. A person could go quite mad here...at least it will be a short trip for me.

I cannot feel my ass. That's a sure sign that I need to get up and move around; however, I'm afraid I'll accidently step on Judy's head. She's somewhere down there with her head near my desk. What if I left my big foot print on the side of her face? I'd never forgive myself....

Still though, I'd love to poke my head out the door and see how close dawn is to us now.

So Far...

I slept from 8 til 10:45, got up and made some breakfast, yip-yapped with Aunt Tudi and Llew, and am now checking email, with Llew curled up beside me snoozing. I'm still a bit punchy from lack of sleep, but I know it will pass as the day progresses. We were planning on going to see "Matrix Revolutions" today, but I suggested we wait a week and let the crowds thin out a bit. I've waited this long to see the third installment, so I can wait another week.

Oh, Llew is wanting to spend Thanksgiving with Aunt Tudi and me. YAY!! I'm so happy! I didn't think that we'd share Thanksgiving as I figured he and the family would go to Deb's or do their own thing. It turns out that Melanie is wanting her mom to join them for Thanksgiving and, since Llew isn't really keen on spending the holiday with his ex-wife, he asked if he could come and stay with us. HELLO!? Did you even think you had to ask, Biscuit? Who knows what mischief we'll get ourselves into on this most festive holiday. Either way, having him around is yet one more thing for which to be thankful this Thanksgiving.

It's been a dandy day so far. I wonder what the rest of this Sunday has in store? One thing's for certain: it's gonna be a delish day.

I'm sitting here watching "Matrix Reloaded" with Llewellyn. Earlier today we were watching "Modern Marvels" on the History Channel. The subject for the show was "Why Buildings Fall" and it focused on engineering flaws in various structures (not just buildings) that would cause them to collapse later on. Of course, the last 20 minutes of the show was dedicated to the WTC and they showed an abundance of footage of the airplanes slamming into the towers. It all seemed so surreal to see this again and, now that I'm watching "Matrix Reloaded", it occurred to me how very much alike the events in these movies are to the 9-11 tragedy. Events of such magnitude on what would seem like a regular day can have but a few explanations. Glitches or changes in the program is as good an explanation as anything else.

On a strangely related subject, I'm reading "Imajica" again. It's been about a decade since I read it, so it's almost like reading a new book. Since my pursuit of Gnostic thought, triggered by the myth of The Matrix, I now see this book in a different light. Like The Matrix, the five dominions that make up The Imajica are ruled by a demiurge that craves ultimate control. I'm looking forward to reading the entire novel with a completely altered outlook. It should be.....intersting.
