Never on a Sunday

I always liked that song. It was one of those Muzak specials in the 1970's. Pretty damned retro and cool.

Well, Llew won't be coming home today either. The doc seems to think he needs more physical therapy before being released. It may be a good idea.

In regard to other Llew issues, I found this horrible scope to be pretty spot on.
You may not be terribly impressed with the activity going on around you, TRACY, but this does not mean that you have to be miserable because of it. This is no time to sit back and let others take the lead. If you see something that you don't agree with, step up and make it known. Do what you can to change the course of events by letting your powerful roar be heard throughout the entire forest.

Perhaps it's time to get my Sith on.

I wrote Llew's mom a long letter to let her know how things are going. Llew was going to call her today if he got out of the hospital, so I figure she'll probably call him instead. He needs all the support in the world right now, poor baby.

I'm going to be heading out in the next 30 minutes. Must go visit with Llew and get my Weird Al pics developed ~ finally! It has been far from a restful weekend. And there's only more to come. Oy vey.

Family Dynamics

What would you think if your boyfriend's daughter and her live-in took your boyfriend's pain pills for recreational purposes?

What would you think if your boyfriend's daughter commits fraud to get public assistance while, at the same time, sponging off her dad's inheritance while she and her live-in don't work?

What would you think if your boyfriend's daughter doesn't show up at the hospital the night of her dad's accident, leaving you helpless to demand anything on his behalf because you're "not family"?

I don't trust Melanie any further than I could throw her and, since she's larger than I am, I guess that answers that question.

What would you think, if you read something like this?
Melanie in her journal: "I plan to go to school instead of work..if these men will get a job soon." (referring to her live-in and Llew, who had been laid off from work and in the throes of looking for another job. Was Billy looking? NO)
My Reply: "Hon, in this day and age I don't see how you're gonna be able to go to school and not work. I hope to get back in school myself in the coming year, but there's no way I can give up working, and I don't even have a kid! It's a rough world and single family incomes just aren't enough anymore."
To which she responded: "yep thats why my dad and billy are both gonna help me. If it wasnt so rough then I would have already had my degree and be making good money...but life happens. lol What do you wanna go to school for?"

This just before Llew got his inheritance. Since he got that, they've done NOTHING but PARTY. Billy still isn't working. "He has a back problem...." How fucking convenient.

Now she's attempting to cause dissention between Llew and me. She took his medicine home with her when he was admitted into the hospital on Wednesday. I remained with him until they got him a room and I could talk to the nurse and she left because she needed to get Destiny in bed and she was really tired herself. Wow.... what is "tired", asks the woman who WORKS for a living? So, Llew was finally moved to a room and I talked to the nurse. She advised that we hold on to his Tylox for when he was discharged 'cos he could probably use it then. My first thought was, "Oh my god, he won't have it because Mel and Billy will use it for recreational purposes." So, when I called to let her know Llew's room number, I asked Melanie to please keep the medicine safe because her dad would really need it later on. She apparently took offense to that.

She also took offense to my asking her if she'd gone to see her dad yesterday, and was admittedly shocked when she said no. Her excuse: Destiny had a cold and she and Billy weren't feeling well and may be contagious. But today, when I went by the house to get Llew's enzymes, they weren't at home. Billy told us later that they'd gone out to eat. So, they felt good enough to go out and spend Llew's money, but they didn't think it prudent to go visit the man who was footing the entire fucking bill. Okaaaaaay.... They're no more contagious than a newborn in a cleanroom.

What does she do? She calls Llew at the hosptial in tears telling him what a big mean baddie I am and how I accused her of stealing his medicine and tried to make her feel bad for not BEING there for him. So, when I call to see how he is, he comes down on me for being inconsiderate to his daughter and he tells me he'd prefer to go home instead of coming here when he's discharged. "I need to be with my family."

All I wanted was to make sure Llew was well cared for and not taken for a ride during his convalescence. Now I'm afraid his recovery will be severely hampered by his environment and, all the while, he'll be drained of money and not cared for properly. I'm at a loss.

I wish I could just throw my hands up and not care, just say que sera sera and let Llew allow himself to be victimised. But I care too much. I worry too much. I love him and can't bear that the one person who should be there for him is the one person who is the greatest danger to him. It breaks my heart. It makes me weep. I feel powerless, helpless, and hopeless. She knows I'm on to her and she doesn't like it, so she's apparently wanting me out of the picture. Llew will let her make that a reality.

And I hate Melanie. If anyone needed to be hit by a bus, it's that bitch and her dopehead boyfriend.
