My room is... dark blue and cool ~ y'know, cave-like

My job is...thinly-veiled indentured servitude

My pet is... a rat with a hippie wig AKA a Yorkshire Terrier

My partner is... the one bright spot in my life

My mother is... really my aunt, but she's more of a mother than many mothers I know, including my own.

My father is... a fruitloop

My education is... woefully insufficient

My car is...a poor replacement for my beloved Robula

My house is... tiny but comfy

My friend is...a Supreme Fruitloop

My music is... my life's soundtrack

My passion is...the ocean

My team is...whatever team the Democrats put together to overthrow that evil monkey fascist pig from hell.

My country is...willingly plummeting headlong in extreme Fascism

It's ridiculous how many there are of these things....and it's pathetic that I've taken most of them.

To [livejournal.com profile] philrancid's post:

Hm..
I'm not sure what exactly you're saying here. I take it that if someone isn't active in their convictions, then they have no right to speak their opinion. If that's what you're saying, I don't really agree with it, but I support and appreciate your right to say so.
I can be very "noisy" when it comes to my political opinions. I think we're heading at light speed into a Fascist Theocratic Corporatocracy. I warn people about it as often as possible.
And, yes, I'm active.
I was an active campaigner for Bill Clinton. One of the many things I did was stand on the side of the road with my best friend and hold up Clinton/Gore signs. We were cursed, spit at, and had things thrown at us from passing vehicles. It is something I'd do all over again, not necessarily because I was a huge Clinton supporter, but because I am a fierce opponent to anyone who wants to take my rights as a woman, a Wiccan, and an environmentalist, away from me.
I am an active supporter of the ACLU, the Sierra Club, the Anti-Vivisection League, and the ADL. I write letters to my senators. I have protested the war for oil.
I'm also very aware of history and how it has a penchant for repeating itself, especially when no one is observant enough or informed enough to stop it.

Is that active enough? If so, my opinion of the current events are as follows:

We observed the 2nd Anniversary of the worst tragedy in American history yesterday, a tragedy that should not have happened and is being blamed on the wrong people. I think that the people who pull W's strings orchestrated this travesty so that their man would be placed firmly in the office he was helped to steal. Questions regarding his right to be president miraculously vanished after around 3000 people were snuffed out of existence. This act of terror also allowed W's Fascist henchman to begin whittling away at our civil and human rights, with the enthusiastic support of folks who have never heard about the burning of the Reichstag and how it allowed Hitler to turn Germany into Nazi Germany.

This is just a sample of my opinion. It's not popular, but I'm not the only one who thinks it.

As for being active, I can't help but think that, if there had been more action in Florida at the time of the 2000 election, we would not have a Hitler clone sitting in the White House now. I voted in that election. I vote in every election to which I can get to the polls.

I now wonder if voting will do any good, but this won't stop me from heading to the polls next year...and I pray to the Mighties that I'm not right when I say that I think Bush will get back in, not because he was voted in, but because we were TOLD he was voted in.

So, that's it for my part in the noisy throng. I'm posting this to my journal in the event you delete it.

Peace (and I truly mean that)

Wahey!

I talked to Carol Ann yesterday and the tale she had to tell gave me flashbacks of the most gruesome variety. Words cannot express my glee at no longer working at the the answering service, having to subject my ears and nerves to hour upon hour of mush-mouthed men and whiny women. Nothing, and I do mean nothing, could make me return to Telesuck.

Anyway, last weekend Carol Ann got a call on one of the local pest control agencies. The woman was calling from a Wendys restaurant in Augusta, Georgia and she was rather desperate to have an exterminator come out quickly. Carol Ann asked her what sort of pest problem the restaurant was having and the woman informed her:
I got magnets in the drive-thru!.

This sounds like a job for the X-Men! Where's Magneto when you need him?

Lady, you have maggots on your brain....oops, sorry ~ my bad. Ahem.. Lady, you have magnets on your brain.

It's almost time for me to leave the Pit for the day. Even though it's been relatively calm and my Feudal Mistress has left me in peace, I still have an overwhelming urge to dash home and take a long hot shower to scour the filth of this place off of my personage. Then, perhaps, I'll catch a bit of The Dark Crystal on DVD. I haven't seen that movie in aeons. Llew's not coming over this evening, so I think it's time to laze about the house like the lump I truly am.
