Yeah, it's been a good'un.
I went this morning for my consultation with the Surgical Weight Loss group. It was basically a meeting and interview, in addition to weights and measurements and a psych test from hell, to see if I qualified for their program. After everything, Diane told me that I was a perfect candidate. Yahoodle! The next step is to meet with Dr. Ross (on 18 September) and get the ball rolling with Cigna. Diane said that, so far, they haven't had any problems with Cigna and she foresees no complications with having insurance coverage for the surgery. I'm more hopeful now than I've been all year about this.
As for the psych test, I scored a "emotionally stable, warm-hearted, kind, and passive person." Not too weak, not too strong. HA! I swear, though, the questions that were asked were kinda freaky, at least some of them were. Here are some I can remember (probably because I'm a perv).
- Do you like to pick up small furry animals?
- Did you enjoy playing with toy guns as a child?
- Have you ever wanted to kill someone?
- Would you go to a wife-swapping party?
- Do you enjoy watching violent scenes in televison shows or movies?
- Do you read Science Fiction novels?
- Would you participate in an orgy?
- Do you stamp your feet when angry?
There were over 200 questions in that portion of the evaluation alone. Sheesh! I answered every question with complete honesty except for the
have you ever wanted to kill someone question. I felt really funny answering that with a strong affirmative because I'm really not a violent person but....sometimes.....when the Feudal Mistress is plaguing me....I get this urge to reach out and squeezer her neck til her head pops off. I just don't want my extreme feelings regarding the Feudal Mistress to hamper my chances of getting this surgery.
In other news, I just heard from Barry.
Redeye is wanting to distribute his album and possibly the new Shriekback and Stic Basin albums as well. This is grand news and I'm really hoping that something positive and affirming will result from all this. Barry could use some good news for once. Hell, we all could. The cool thing about
Redeye is that they're located near Raleigh, North Carolina. If Barry has to come over for any "recording industry business", we may finally get to meet each other face to face. Of course, it won't be for long, because I will promptly pass flat out after having been in his presence. I'm such a pathetic fan girl. Somebody shoot me.
Llew is supposed to be coming over tonight, so it's time for me to get off this computer and get ready for My Loved One.
