I had a very intense dream last night. It had all the makings of a Shamanic Journey. I dreamt that I was a member of the Ya Ya Sisterhood (a movie I thought sucked major rocks). The four of us, the Sisterhood that is, were going to show some possible new members our secret hiding place wherein we held our most holy of rituals, if the newcomers could keep us with us.
We were all decked in our Ya Ya outfits. I recall being in a long shimmering purple satin robe with a big gaudy Christmas decoration crown on my head. I also carried a long wand with a tinfoil star on the end. I was a horror to behold.
As we lined up to start our trek to the secret hiding place, I was the fourth sister and behind me were the newcomers. Then suddenly we all turned into little girls and began running as fast as we could. I struggled to keep up, successfully so. We ran through a meadow and over high hills. Then we ran across a beach and made our way to a narrow precipice. We all had to skitter swiftly across this ledge and make sure our footing was exact or we'd fall down onto the beach and be out of the Sisterhood forever. In my dream, I remember being very scared at this point and tiptoeing nimbly along behind my sisters.
After that trial, we were led into a great hole in the Earth. Inside the hole was a brick maze with narrow passages and simple brick arches. I recall being afraid I'd get stuck because I was the pudgy sister. Even though we were crawling through these passageways, it was more like flying, we were going so fast. At one point, I lost my sisters and looked behind me to see only one newcomer left. Then the place opened up to a small sanctuary wherein there stood the most beautiful statue of Mother Mary.
We all huddled together underneath a boxed in bench at the foot of the statue and pulled out our Ya Ya book. It was filled with magickal symbols and numeric spells. The head sister commenced to explain the correlation of each member to the numerological mysteries of our book as I peeked out of the lattice to look at Mother Mary.
