Here at work, as usual.

I was just informed by my coworker that I should run for public office. Actually, I've seriously thought about it, but I know I ~~ 1)am not rich enough and ~~2) would probably be eradicated by Right Wing Christian Nazis. That may not stop me from at least trying in the end. She said she'd be willing to start me up a campaign fund. What about that? heheheheheh

Oh, and speaking of Right Wing Christian Nazis, I really dig my new lj pic. How amusing, eh?

Lew will be coming over tomorrow evening after I get off from work. We're planning on working on removing the overgrowth from the driveway and perhaps returning for a encore viewing of 'The Two Towers' with Aunt Tudi in tow. I'm looking forward to it.

Here's the weekly Quiz Thang. I'm particularly amused at the last one on many levels, since I'm a sucker for musicians, Scotsmen, and Boyds.

I woke myself up talking in my sleep last night.

I've never done that before.....how odd!

Madness

This is usually the time of day where I feel the ungodly urge to spin in circles on my shoulder a la Homer Simpson. I've finished all my work yet the afternoon rush has yet to hit, so here I sit.

Oddly enough, our 'busy season' isn't very busy so far. It could be because the music biz is still getting its butt kicked by the Internet. As a matter of fact, 'my superior' informed me just yesterday that business is projected to fall another 20% this year.

I've suggested to several people that what we need to do is focus on The Concert Experience more than record sales. You can't capture The Concert Experience online...it has to be in person or the feeling is lost!
In order for the record companies to do that though, they'd have to get Real Talent instead of models who lipsync. Out with Titney and her hell-clones and in with more bands like Dave Matthews!

In the 60's and 70's, The Concert Experience was what it was all about, man! We had butt-ugly, highly talented musicians up there making music that meant something. There was a tribal feel to the whole thing. Memories were being made!
Now, we have franchises and gimmicks.

If the music biz loses out to the Internet it's only because it's not offering anything worth buying. Why pay for a Titney video that you can see for free? And why pay to see her in concert when she has the voice of a bull frog and dares to lipsync to that?

So there's a rant during this lull in the madness.
I can't wait for 5 pm to get here.
