There is a solution, though I don't think a lot of people are going to like it, especially not the fluffier types who somehow think getting "back to nature" is going to reverse the trend towards an environment unhospitable to mammalian life. It will mean the end of "humanity" as we know it, but it doesn't mean the end of us.

There is no future in carbon based higher lifeforms on this rock. I see our responsibility as creating the stronger and better things that you speak of, and letting them carry forward the standard.
